Can I Pay Out of Court

The Traffic Bureau establishes the schedule the amount of fines and costs to be imposed without the party having to appear in court.

The municipal court clerk serves as violations clerk and accepts appearance, waiver of trial, plea of guilty and payment of fines and costs in designated traffic offenses.

The Violations Bureau is established as a convenience to the public.

It is not intended to replace a court appearance for pleas of Not Guilty. If you believe that you are not guilty of the offense charged, you should appear in court on the date indicated on your summons.

Violations which may be paid outside of court proceedings may be paid in person, online or by mail. Our normal business hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

The Municipal Court Office is closed on weekends and most holidays, but you can put your payment into the secured dropbox outside of the court department window.

To make a payment or sign up for updates on your case, go to: Missouri Casenet.

Check the traffic bureau chart to the right to see if your citation is eligible to be paid for out of court.

Certain citations like a seat belt violations, will not have court costs, but all other citations will have a $35.50 costs.
