[ARCHIVED] T.R.I.M. Grant Completion

Tree Inventory

T.R.I.M. Grant Completion

In early 2020, the Parks Division of the Public Works Maintenance staff applied for a T.R.I.M. (Tree Resource and Improvement) Grant, administered through the Missouri Department of Conservation. The grant was awarded and the work, consisting of a street tree inventory update and a one year subscription to the “Treekeepers” software, was completed as of early 2021.

Davey Resource Group was the contractor hired to complete the street tree inventory update. The inventory, which is maintained by the City, allows us to track the trees in the right-of-way behind the curbs. The inventory also tracks the species, size, tree condition, GPS coordinates and a picture of the tree at the time of the inventory.

This multitude of information is extremely beneficial to track maintenance requirements and a substantial upgrade from our previous inventories. The initial cost to the City for this project was $8,000, of which the City will be reimbursed at 75 percent, or $6,000.
