Redistricting
Redistricting, which is required by City Charter and State Law after every decennial census, is done in accordance with the practice of making sure there is no standard deviation in population of more than 10 percent between the largest and smallest wards within the City. The Redistricting Committee took that into account when trying to develop the redistricting map. They also took into account trying to balance out the map using major roads and creeks as boundaries, to help everyone identify their individual wards easier.
While it is hard to explain where every gain and loss occurred without using individual addresses, here is a summary of each Ward and the streets they are gaining (these are shaded on the map):
