Parks Master Plan

The Crestwood Parks and Recreation has begun the process of the Parks Master Plan project. This is a community-based plan identifying improvements to city parks for the next 10 years. The study will be led by Vireo, a Kansas City based landscape architecture, community planning and design firm. Following extensive public engagement of residents, park users and public officials, the plan will be established by the end of 2022.

The Parks Master Plan objectives include:

  • Identifying current conditions in the parks;
  • Identifying needed improvements;
  • Exploring development scenarios to address the needs and desires of the community;
  • Evaluating the Community Center and Aquatic Center;
  • Exploring connectivity of biking/hiking in the area;
  • Developing a budget for the proposed project and development scenarios; and
  • Identifying priorities and strategies for funding park improvements.

We will have two open forums and a survey that will require the input of the Crestwood Community. We would love for the residents to get involved so everyone’s voice is heard.

MDC and Local Partners are now collaborating with the City of Crestwood to bring nature back to our parks:
